The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (The Clery Act) is the federal law that requires disclosure of campus safety information by colleges and universities. After the mass shooting tragedy at Virginia Tech, the law was updated to require campuses to issue immediate campus emergency alerts about any situations that are a threat to the health or safety of students and employees.
